Belgian government finally working on ethical hacking legal framework
The Federal Centre for Cybersecurity is going to provide companies and institutions a legal framework to accommodate ethical hacking on their infrastructure
Although ethical hacking, with written approval from the customer, is quite common, there is currently no actual legal framework for it. It is a bit of a grey area, because legally hacking into a computer system, ethical or not, is not allowed, and is punishable by law.
The new rules will make provisions for ethical hacking, while of course keeping any other hacking a crime.
